The IDEA system permit user to explore traces dataset collected from a video annotation of an e-learning platform using an HTC Vive. Each trace is represented by a colored sphere placed in a cylindrical coordinate system. The 3 axes encode, date/time, user, and event type attribute, where color also encode event type.
The main particularity of IDEA is related to the navigation where the user can physically move standing up or while being seated on a tracked mobile chair which is modelized in the virtual world. Moreover, flight and teleport movement are available. Users can also formulate filtering query by menu selection displayed on the tablet attached to the mobile chair providing a haptic feedback. The query selection is materialized by a cube that can be placed on a virtual plank to activate the filter, or moved away from the plank to deactivate it.
