Obelisk-xR has been built to enhance the education process by giving access to the rich database linked to the Penn State University monument. Indeed, the monument is a tower containing 281 stones, where each stone has the following attributes: name, type of rock, description, map, geologic era of formation, thickness, and sources of the stone.

Using photogrammetry, a realistic 3D mesh is displaying inside an HMD where user can access all detailed information of each stone using a raycast emitted from the VR controller. A particularity is to allow the user to be transported inside a 360° picture of the location where the stone has been collected.
