This system shows a 3D reconstruction of the Lake Bonney where position of the sonde used to collect bathymetry data of the lake are located. Selecting those sonde will then display 2D scatterplot of the measurement, such as the salinity measurement or the temperature curve.
This allowed scientists to understand this extreme environment’s chemical and biological features, by combining their 3D point cloud with the chemical and biological properties of the water column which represented around 50.000 samples.
