This repository is meant as a companion website to the following paper: Adrien Fonnet and Yannick Prié (2019) Survey of Immersive Analytics, in IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2019.

It features the description of several immersive analytics systems that have been presented in 127 scientific papers between 1991 and 2018. The selection criteria for an Immersive Analytics system to be included was that it had to be thoroughly described within a scientific paper. We used the definition of immersive analytics from Chandler et al. (2015): “IA is the applicability and development of emerging user-interface technologies for creating more engaging and immersive experiences and seamless workflows for data analysis application” [1] since it provides clearer limits and therefore was better suited for a survey paper than the most recent open definition from the IA book: “IA is the use of engaging, embodied analysis tools to support data understanding and decision making” [2].

How to contribute

Immersive analytics is an evolving field, and this repository is also meant to live and evolve.
One way of doing so is to contribute with new systems to be added. You can do so by sending an email to yannick.prie@univ-nantes.fr, with this information:
  • Date / Short name of the system
  • Short description of the system (roughly 100 words)
  • A set of pictures of the system
  • URL of videos of the system
  • The scientific paper the system is describe in
  • Your name as a contributor

Alternatively, you can ask to become a curator of this repo and get an access, please feel free to ask!
